Joe Gray: Father & artist located in Brooklyn NY & Hartford CT, living with my son Kezra. Specializing in film photography & cinematography, drawing & painting, and poetry. My career in photography stemmed from a love for photojournalism, which ultimately brought me down a more commercial route when I joined Hallmark Institute of Photography and studied closely underneath Gregory Heisler, then under Mike Crane via my move to Boston upon graduation. I would say my photographic style has also been influenced by the likes of Helmut Newton, Sophie Calle, Wolfgang Tillman & Peter Beard, while my drawings & paintings seem to have an abstracted Roman Catholic and Upper Paleolithic representation which most likely stems from my childhood.
